Verifier Node Pause

Verifier Node Pause

When a Verifier Node goes offline or fails to respond for an extended period, the system designates it as being in a paused state.

  • During the pause:

    • Delegators staking to the node will stop earning rewards.

    • Worker Nodes previously linked to the node will be automatically relinked to other active Verifier Nodes.

  • Upon recovery:

    • Once the Verifier Node comes back online and reconnects to the network, its Delegators will resume earning rewards.

    • The node regains normal functionality, though its reputation score and task allocation weight may be temporarily reduced.

This mechanism ensures that the OpenCompute network remains secure, stable, and highly available even in the event of individual node failures, while reinforcing the need for Verifier Node operators to maintain long-term uptime and reliable operations.
